Ausar Thompson shot 6-of-12 from the field and 4-of-6 from the foul line in Friday’s 79-73 win over the Spurs, recording a line of 18 points, 14 rebounds, two assists, one steal, and two 3-pointers in 29 minutes.
Thompson’s had a good week in Las Vegas, and he produced one of the highlights of the summer with his putback dunk over Spurs big Dominick Barlow. The fifth overall pick in last month’s draft, Thompson has been especially active on the glass and defensively, which is a great sign regarding his fantasy potential. If Thompson can earn a place in the Pistons’ starting lineup in training camp, he could be one of the better rookies in fantasy basketball. Fellow rookie Malcolm Cazalon added 16 points, four rebounds, one steal, and two 3-pointers in 23 minutes.
