Louisville sophomore WR Marcus Riley entered the NCAA transfer portal.
Riley (5'10/165) recorded statistical output in six games this past season, logging three catches for nine yards. He initially joined the Cardinals as a three-star “athlete” recruit in the 2018 cycle. Last summer, now-former Louisville HC Bobby Petrino compared the wideout to Harry Douglas. Unless he is to transfer out of the FBS, Riley will be required to sit out the 2019 season in order to satisfy NCAA transfer regulations. He is the second Louisville receiver to enter the transfer portal this month, joining Corey Reed.

Louisville Head Coach Bobby Petrino said 2018 three-star ATH Marcus Riley reminds him “a little of Harry Douglas.”
Douglas has been a solid role player in the NFL for the last decade, making this a good comparison for an incoming freshman to draw. Riley is labeled as an “athlete” on most recruiting sites but Petrino clearly envisions him largely as a wide receiver. Standing at a slight 5'10, 165 pounds, the Tallahassee, Florida native will likely need to bulk up a bit before earning serious playing time at Louisville.
