Rams coach Sean McVay confirmed Eric Weddle has been placed in the concussion protocol.
Christian McCaffrey tried to hurdle Weddle in the second quarter but wound up hitting him with his left knee. He was one of three Cardinals draft picks to sign on Friday. Christian excelled in Division II but it remains to be seen whether his skills will translate to the next level. His best chance to stick may come on special teams.

Cardinals selected Midwestern State S Marqui Christian with the No. 167 overall pick of the 2016 NFL draft.
A small-school safety out of Midwestern State, Christian (5-10,196) was awarded the Cliff Harris Award as the nation’s top small-college defender in 2015. He posted a 4.46 forty with a 35.5-inch vertical and a 10-foot broad jump at his Pro Day. With limited range and coverage skills, Christian could be limited to special teams in the NFL.
