White Sox released LHP Caleb Frare.
Frare got non-tendered by the White Sox back in December after logging just 2 2/3 innings at the major league level in 2019. He did eventually re-sign with the organization on a non-guaranteed minor league contract but obviously won’t be a consideration for the club’s 60-man player pool in 2020.

  • MLB Designated Hitter #32
White Sox released 1B Matt Skole.
Skole was re-signed to a minor league contract in January but will not remain part of the White Sox organization leading into MLB’s planned 60-game season. The 30-year-old former fifth-round pick of the Nationals owns an ugly .217/.290/.277 career batting line at the major league level.

  • MLB Designated Hitter #32
White Sox re-signed 1B Matt Skole to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Skole hit the free agent market in October after the White Sox outrighted him off their 40-man roster, but the two parties were ultimately able to work out a new deal. The 30-year-old first baseman holds a weak .217/.290/.277 career batting line in 93 plate appearances at the major league level.

White Sox sent INF Matt Skole outright to Triple-A Charlotte.
He will officially become a free agent after the World Series. Skole hit just .217/.290/.277 in limited action for the White Sox over the last two seasons.
  • MLB Designated Hitter #32
Matt Skole left Wednesday’s game against the Indians with abdominal tightness.
Skole replaced by Welington Castillo at DH. The White Sox are calling him day-to-day.
  • MLB Designated Hitter #32
White Sox purchased the contract of INF Matt Skole from Triple-A Charlotte.
Skole has batted .248/.384/.497 with 21 homers this season for Charlotte. He is taking A.J. Reed’s spot on the roster and could see a decent number of starts in the designated hitter spot.
  • MLB Designated Hitter #32
Matt Skole was scratched from Thursday’s start at Triple-A Charlotte.
Beat reporter James Fegan of The Athletic takes it as a sign that Skole is headed to Philadelphia, where he would join the White Sox for the start of their three-game set against the Phillies. The White Sox have a roster vacancy after demoting struggling DH A.J. Reed to Triple-A on Thursday. Skole has had a productive year in the minors, slashing .248/.384/.497 with 21 homers, the latter tying for 11th in the International League.
  • MLB Designated Hitter #32
White Sox re-signed INF Matt Skole to a minor league contract.
Skole was outrighted off the 40-man roster in September after hitting .237/336/.404 with 14 homers in 500 plate appearances for Triple-A Charlotte. He did have a .903 OPS with the White Sox, but that was over just four games.
  • MLB Designated Hitter #32
Nationals prospect Matt Skole has been placed on the 7-day minor league disabled list.
Skole suffered an injury to his left arm Friday. It’s not clear how long he’ll be sidelined, but the 23-year-old should return to Double-A Harrisburg when healthy. Baseball America ranked Skole as the Nationals’ No. 4 prospect prior to the season.
  • MLB Designated Hitter #32
Nationals prospect Matt Skole underwent Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery on Wednesday.
It was to his non-throwing arm, so Skole will only miss 3-4 months. The 23-year-old corner infielder was the Nationals’ fifth-round pick in the 2011 MLB Amateur Draft.
