There’s a chance he’s up as a long reliever at some point later this year.

    The 31-year-old will appeal the suspension after throwing at, and hitting, Angels superstar Shohei Ohtani on Thursday. White Sox manager Tony La Russa was also suspended one game but is unable to appeal.

    Wright, 31, allowed the first two runners to reach before giving up the three-run roundtripper to Keston Hiura in the top of the first inning. He was able to get the next three batters out, but damage done. The right-hander is battling for a spot in the White Sox bullpen this spring, but his 2021 Cactus League season is off to an inauspicious start.
