    Longo inked a minor league deal with the Nationals back in January and was hitting just .221/.271/.382 with five homers and one steal in 140 plate appearances for Double-A Harrisburg. The 27-year-old outfielder has yet to reach the majors.

    Longo, who turned 27 on Wednesday, lit up Double-A pitching with an .891 OPS over 75 games with Biloxi, but hit just .182 with a .528 OPS once promoted to Triple-A. He’ll be depth for the Nationals’ organization with an outside chance of make his MLB debut in 2022.

    Longo hit .248/.320/.370 with five homers and 11 steals at Double-A Akron in the Indians minor-league system back in 2019. He’ll serve as organizational outfield depth.
