Fletcher

Fletcher was released last week by the Giants after allowing eight runs on eight hits with a 2/7 K/BB ratio across three innings (three appearances) for Triple-A Sacramento. The 27-year-old left-hander has made 19 relief appearances in the majors over the last three season between the Pirates and Mariners.

Fletcher was just claimed off waivers from the Pirates last week. He passed through waivers this time and will remain in the organization.

Fletcher was designated for assignment by Pittsburgh last week after struggling to a 6.94 ERA through 11 2/3 innings. The 29-year-old southpaw holds a career 9.15 ERA in 19 2/3 total major league frames.

The Pirates needed to free up a spot on the 40-man roster for Yohan Ramirez who was acquired from the Guardians on Friday. The 26-year-old southpaw has struggled during his time at the big league level this season, posting a 6.94 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 6/4 K/BB ratio over 11 2/3 innings. He’s likely to pass through waivers unclaimed and continue to function as pitching depth at Triple-A for the Pirates.
