The well-traveled 36-year-old righty returned stateside this season following a two-year stint overseas in Korea with the Lotte Giants. He last appeared in the big leagues during the 2019 campaign when he made a career-high eight relief appearances for the Brewers.

Wilkerson signed a minor league contract with the Athletics back in April and didn’t wind up making it back to the majors this season. The 34-year-old righty hasn’t appeared in the big leagues since making eight relief appearances for the Brewers back in 2019. He’ll take his talents overseas for the remainder of the 2023 campaign and take home $350,000 in the process.

Wilkerson came close to signing with the Rakuten Monkeys of the Chinese Professional Baseball League before inking a minor-league deal with the Dodgers and posting a solid 3.86 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 125/24 K/BB ratio across 112 innings (23 appearances, 19 starts) at Triple-A Oklahoma City last year. The 32-year-old righty last appeared in the majors with the Brewers back in 2019.

Wilkerson has already made one start with Triple-A Oklahoma City. The 31-year-old holds a career 6.88 ERA over 14 appearances -- three starts -- at the major league level.

Wilkerson was designated for assignment by Milwaukee on Sunday and passed through waivers unclaimed. The 30-year-old right-hander has a 6.88 ERA in 35 1/3 career innings at the major league level.

Wilkerson holds an ugly 6.88 ERA over parts of the past three seasons for Milwaukee. He is no longer on the 40-man roster.

Wilkerson ate some much-needed innings for the bullpen in his lone day up with the big club Sunday. He’ll return in September.
