Greenberg returned recently to playing for Double-A West Tenn, but has been returned to Mesa, Arizona for further evaluation because vertigo continues to affect him when he plays.

Greenberg was hit in the helmet by a pitch in his only big league plate appearance last season. He’s only 25 years old, so another team will surely take a look.

The Marlins signed Greenberg to a one-day contract and plan to give him an at-bat on Tuesday. The 31-year-old was hit in the helmet in his lone big league plate appearance back in 2005 with the Cubs, so he’s looking for redemption.

Greenberg was hitting .278/.384/.418 for West Tenn. He can play center, although he hasn’t this year because he’s been on the same team as Felix Pie. The 24-year-old projects as a long-term reserve, and he’s not up to stay this time. It seems unlikely that he’ll have any fantasy value.
