Angels prospect 2B Alex Yarbrough had another big game on Sunday, as he went 2-for-5 with a double, home run and three RBI for Double-A Arkansas.
Yarbrough’s production this season mirrors the numbers he put up last year during his full-season debut at High-A Inland Empire, as he’s now batting .314/.351/.456 with 24 runs, 17 extra-base hits and 30 RBI through 42 games. After already having a 13-game hitting streak snapped earlier this month, the 22-year-old switch-hitter is currently riding a seven-gamer during which he’s batting .367/.472/.800 with six extra-base hits and 14 RBI.

Angels second base prospect Alex Yarbrough went 2-for-4 with a sacrifice fly, and is hitting .323/.343/.403 for Double-A Arkansas.
Yarbrough’s peak value would be a shortstop who hits .300 with 25 doubles and five home runs, and his likely role will be a utility infielder. He is riding a 13-game hit streak, during which he has hit .357/.383/.429.

Alex Yarbrough went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a stolen base as the Angels fell to the Padres in Cactus League action.
He got the start at second base in this one, but has been working all over the diamond during the spring in an effort to increase his versatility as he strives to secure a spot on the Angels bench. The 23-year-old is hitting just .200 (2-for-10) through four spring games.

Angels manager Mike Scioscia said Saturday that the team is working Alex Yarbrough out at third base, first base and left field this spring to “see if the versatility is there”.
With increased versatility, the Angels could be considering him for a spot on the bench. Yarbrough, a fourth-round selection from the 2012 draft, is a second baseman by trade. He spent the entire 2014 season at Double-A Arkansas where he slashed .285/.321/.397 with five homers, 77 RBI and six stolen bases in 136 games.
