Blue Jays signed LHP Amir Garrett to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
The 32-year-old southpaw has bounced around a bit over the past few years, but when he’s right he has proven to be a viable high-leverage reliever. It’s a nice low-cost gamble for the Blue Jays, though the chances of him returning to any sort of fantasy relevance are very small.

    Angels released LHP Amir Garrett.
Garrett has been cut loose by Los Angeles after re-signing with the club on a minor league contract back in late May after posting a lackluster 5.06 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and an 11/5 K/BB ratio over 5 1/3 innings. The 32-year-old’s control has deteriorated to the point he’s no longer a viable relief option at the highest level.

Angels re-signed LHP Amir Garrett to a minor league contract.
The 32-year-old southpaw had been designated for assignment last week, then elected free agency rather than accepting an outright assignment to Triple-A Salt Lake. After exploring the open market though, he decided that his best chance of making it back to the big leagues is still with the Halos. Garrett posted a 5.06 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and an 11/5 K/BB ratio across 5 1/3 innings during his time at the big league level.

Amir Garrett has elected free agency.
Garrett was designated for assignment and went unclaimed by the Angels on Wednesday. The left-handed veteran is now free to sign with another club, but is likely looking at a minor-league pact.

Angels designated LHP Amir Garrett for assignment.
The 32-year-old southpaw struggled in six appearances with the Halos, posting a 5.06 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and an 11/5 K/BB ratio over 5 1/3 innings. He still misses plenty of bats and throws from the left side, so once again there may be interest in his services on waivers.

Angels selected the contract of LHP Amir Garrett from Triple-A Salt Lake.
Garrett gets the call to join the Angels’ bullpen mix after pitching well in eight relief appearances for Triple-A Salt Lake. He figures to pitch in middle relief. The 31-year-old lefty made 27 appearances last year for Kansas City.

Angels signed LHP Amir Garrett to a minor league contract.
Garrett provides the Angels with some extra left-handed relief depth at Triple-A Salt Lake. The 31-year-old southpaw was cut loose by the Giants in late March following a couple ugly outings in spring training. He made 27 relief appearances last year for Kansas City.

    Giants released LHP Amir Garrett.
Garrett appeared to have a decent shot at landing a spot in San Francisco’s bullpen this spring, but struggled to an unsightly 12.79 ERA, 3.16 WHIP and 3/7 K/BB ratio across 6 1/3 innings (six appearances) in the Cactus League. The 31-year-old lefty figures to continue getting chances as a low-risk flyer for lefty-needy teams, but his days as a reliable high-leverage option might be over.

Giants signed LHP Amir Garrett to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
The 31-year-old southpaw was once considered among the top left-handed relievers in all of baseball. He has fallen on hard times in recent seasons though, most recently posting a 3.33 ERA and a cringe-inducing 1.73 WHIP over 24 1/3 innings with the Royals in 2023. He still has a live arm though and could wind up being a major weapon out of the Giants’ bullpen if they’re able to cure what ails him.

    Guardians released LHP Amir Garrett.
Garrett signed a minor league contract back in late July with the Guardians and has been cut loose after just a handful of relief appearances for Triple-A Columbus. The 31-year-old lefty has battled serious control issues throughout this season, but might wind up getting another opportunity over the final month of the year.
