Blue Jays selected RHP Angel Bastardo from the Red Sox with the sixth pick of the 2024 Rule 5 draft.
Bastardo has made 74-of-78 appearances in the minors as a starter, and last year the 22-year-old made 10 starts with a 5.36 ERA for Double-A Portland. While he has the endurance to start, he’ll all but assuredly be a relief option with Toronto.
