Speaking about Bernie Williams’ sore knee, manager Joe Torre said, ''We’ll take it day-to-day and see.’'
''It’s something he’s played with and it’s affecting him somewhat,’' Torre said after making Williams the DH yesterday. Williams has struggled since the onset of the injury, but there’s no indication he’ll come out of the lineup. That could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it, or how much you believe his performance of late is tied into the knee problem.
