LaFromboise

LaFromboise was terrific in 2012, putting up a 1.36 ERA while striking out 70 over 66 1/3 innings. He’s now protected from the Rule 5 Draft.

LaFromboise allowed two earned runs on two hits and three walks over 2 1/3 innings with the Mariners. The southpaw should get another crack later this summer.

LaFromboise registered a promising 1.36 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 70/21 K/BB ratio across 66 1/3 innings last season between Double-A Jackson and Triple-A Tacoma. He should do well in a lefty specialist role.

LaFromboise has just one appearance with the big club this year. He’ll serve as bullpen depth for the Mariners.

LaFromboise had registered an unsightly 5.94 ERA, 2.28 WHIP, and 8/9 K/BB ratio through 16 2/3 innings this season at Triple-A Lehigh Valley. The 29-year-old southpaw should be able to latch on with a new organization. Lefty relievers tend to get nine lives.

The deal does not include an official invitation to major league camp. LaFromboise was released by the Phillies last June after posting a 5.94 ERA and 2.28 WHIP in 16 2/3 innings at Triple-A Lehigh Valley. He will function as organizational left-handed relief depth for Texas.

LaFromboise had logged just three innings this season with the Rangers’ rookie-level Arizona League team. The 31-year-old left-hander hasn’t appeared in a major league game since 2015.

LaFromboise will give the Bucs left-handed relief depth while Antonio Bastardo welcomes a new child. LaFromboise will likely be sent back to the Triple-A level once Bastardo is activated off the paternity leave list.

He’s clearing room for the return of Antonio Bastardo from paternity leave. LaFromboise tossed a scoreless inning in his lone appearance up with the big club.

The move cleared a roster spot for starting pitcher Chris Young. LaFromboise was not expected to make the Mariners’ Opening Day bullpen out of spring training.
