Giants signed RHP Brandon Beachy to a minor league contract.
Beachy is attempting a comeback after recuperating from two Tommy John elbow surgeries. He last pitched in the major leagues in 2015. Last year he played in the independent Atlantic League. He has a career 14-12 record with a 3.36 ERA in 48 starts from 2010-2015.

Brandon Beachy allowed four runs on nine hits in 5 1/3 innings on Monday, taking a no-decision in Atlanta’s 5-4, 12-inning loss to the Marlins.
He struck out 10 in his third double-digit strikeout effort of the season. Now the owner of a 3.43 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 152/37 K/BB ratio through 131 1/3 innings, Beachy will get the Mets at home this weekend. He’s sewn up a spot in the Braves’ 2012 rotation.

Brandon Beachy gave up four runs over six innings Saturday in a loss to the Nationals.
Beachy gave up five hits and four walks while striking out nine. He also threw two wild pitches. While he has piled up the strikeouts lately, he has allowed four runs in three straight starts and hasn’t completed seven innings since July 29. He’ll head into the postseason with a 3.68 ERA and 169/46 K/BB ratio in 141 2/3 innings over 25 starts.

Brandon Beachy walked five while allowing one run in three innings Monday against the Cardinals.
Beachy managed to minimize the damage today, but seven walks in five innings to date is far too many. It’d be nice to see some progress from the 25-year-old next time out.

Brandon Beachy allowed two runs on seven hits in 6 1/3 innings of Wednesday’s win over the Dodgers.
He struck out six, walked one and served up a solo home run to Matt Kemp (no shame in that) in taking a no-decision. The quality start was Beachy’s third straight, while he’s now gone at least 6 1/3 innings in each of his past three outings. He’ll bring a 1.05 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 20/7 K/BB ratio into his Monday tilt with the Pirates.

Brandon Beachy held the Cardinals to one earned run over six innings Saturday in a 7-2 victory.
Beachy struck out six batters and yielded only two hits while tossing 57 of his 99 pitches for strikes. The 25-year-old right-hander is now 4-1 with a stellar 1.60 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 33/14 K/BB ratio through 45 innings this season. He’s a must-start in all fantasy leagues next week against the Marlins.

Brandon Beachy gave up four runs in six innings out of the pen Monday against the Mets.
Beachy will begin the year as the Braves’ No. 4 starter. He hasn’t been at his best this spring, as the 5.54 ERA demonstrates, but did end up with a 16/2 K/BB ratio in his last four outings after walking seven batters in his first two.

Brandon Beachy struggled in his first start of the season Monday, allowing four runs over five innings in a loss to the Astros.
Obviously not the debut fantasy owners had in mind given the tasty matchup. Beachy allowed four hits and three walks while striking out three. He’ll try to bounce back this weekend against the Brewers.

Brandon Beachy held the Diamondbacks to four hits over 7 1/3 shutout frames in a 9-1 win on Friday.
Excellent. Beachy struck out five and walked just one in the easy victory. He has allowed just one earned run over 19 1/3 innings this season, good enough for a major-league best 0.47 ERA. He appears poised to build on his impressive performance from last season.

Brandon Beachy held the Rockies to two runs on four hits in 6 1/3 innings of Sunday’s 7-2 win in Colorado.
He stuck out five and walked three. The way Coors Field has been playing this season, it might as well have been a shutout. Beachy has now been quality in five consecutive starts, and has a 1.62 ERA and 0.95 WHIP to show for it. He’ll face a big test next weekend, however, where he’ll take on the hot-hitting Cardinals in St. Louis.
