Manager Frank Robinson plans to use Brendan Harris occasionally at second base over the final three weeks.
Harris came up as a second baseman but his future is at third for the Expos. Still, with Jose Vidro out, second base is the easiest place for Robinson to get Harris into the action.

Brendan Harris, part of the deal that brought Nomar Garciaparra to the Cubs, is expected to get a callup to the Expos after Sept. 6.
Harris has 17 home runs in 368 at-bats between Triple-A Iowa and Edmonton this season. He could be the Expos’ third baseman in 2005.
  • DET Shortstop
Brendan Harris, coming back from knee surgery, is expected to be ready to play for Triple-A Iowa in two weeks.
The Cubs had thought that Harris would miss at least the first month of the minor league season, but he is ahead of schedule.
  • DET Shortstop
Brendan Harris is going to need knee surgery and could miss up to 12 weeks.
Harris just woke up one day with a sore knee and doesn’t know how he was hurt. The 2001 fifth-round pick was supposed to move from third base to second base at Triple-A Iowa this year. He still could be a candidate for a starting job on the Cubs in 2005, but this hurts his chances.

Nationals optioned infielder Brendan Harris to Triple-A New Orleans.
Harris has hit .250/.333/.313 in 32 at-bats for the Nationals this season. We believe the club should try him as a regular shortstop over Royce Clayton, but it doesn’t seem like Frank Robinson is at all interested in making a switch.
  • DET Shortstop
Brendan Harris made his first career start at shortstop on Thursday and had a double in three at-bats.
He did commit a throwing error. If the Nationals were serious about using Harris at shortstop, they likely would have had him spend more time there in Triple-A. It’s still going to be Royce Clayton’s job for now.

Nationals recalled infielder Brendan Harris from Triple-A New Orleans.
It’s not going to matter unless he plays. When Harris was recalled in April, manager Frank Robinson said he’d be fine with using him at shortstop, then gave him all of two innings at the position in two weeks before he was sent back down. Harris isn’t going to play much second or third, so he needs to be at shortstop to be a factor. If he gets some starts over Royce Clayton, he’ll likely have value in NL-only leagues.
  • DET Shortstop
Brendan Harris went 3-for-3 with two walks and four runs scored for Triple-A New Orleans on Saturday.
Harris is batting .323/.425/.474 in 133 at-bats, but he’s not playing much shortstop for New Orleans, suggesting that the Nationals won’t consider using him as a replacement for Royce Clayton. He may eventually get a utility role.

Triple-A Louisville’s Brendan Harris went 3-for-5 with a homer, a double and four RBI on Sunday.
Harris is batting .289/.337/.500 in 90 at-bats for Louisville since being acquired in the Austin Kearns-Felipe Lopez deal last month. He should be a part of Cincinnati’s bench in September, though the at-bats won’t be there to give him any fantasy value.

Reds recalled infielder Brendan Harris from Triple-A Louisville.
Harris had hit .324/.384/.534 in 148 at-bats for Louisville since being acquired in the Austin Kearns deal. He’ll serve as a utilityman, which shouldn’t give him any fantasy value.
