    Marlins reassigned LHP Justin King, RHP Josh Ekness, and OFs Mathew Etzel, Brendan Jones, and Andrew Pintar to minor league camp.
    None of the players are on the 40-man roster or rank inside Miami’s Top 30 prospects, according to MLB Pipeline. Pintar did have a solid 2025 season, posting a .269/.338/.384 slash line with 23 steals in 84 Triple-A games, and Etzel, who came over from the Rays for Nick Fortes, hit .275/.367/.363 in 31 games at Triple-A last season as well.

    Marlins acquired OF Brendan Jones, OF Dillon Lewis, 1B Dylan Jasso and SS Juan Matheus from the Yankees for LHP Ryan Weathers.
    Jones hit .245/.359/.395 with 11 homers and 51 steals in 549 plate appearances over 124 games between High-A Hudson Valley and Double-A Somerset this past season. The speedy 23-year-old center fielder was New York’s 12th-round selection in the 2024 MLB Draft out of Kansas State University.
