Jacobson

Jacobson, who was acquired from the Orioles in the J.J. Hardy deal, had an ugly 7.50 ERA and 25/45 K/BB ratio over 42 innings this season in Double-A. The 25-year-old right-hander will attempt to get a chance with another organization.

Jacobson was released by the Twins last month after posting an ugly 7.50 ERA and 25/45 K/BB ratio over 42 innings this season in Double-A. He’ll function as organizational depth.

Jacobson had allowed 17 runs in 17 innings this season at Triple-A Colorado Springs. The 26-year-old righty was a fourth-round pick in the 2008 MLB Amateur Draft.

Jacobson had a 3.74 ERA and 44/17 K/BB ratio in 55 1/3 innings of relief this season for the Tigers’ Single-A affiliate in Lakeland, Florida. The 22-year-old projects as an above average middle reliever and possible setup man.

Jacobson was originally picked up from the Tigers in the Aubrey Huff trade last August. The 24-year-old right-hander compiled a 2.79 ERA and 67/24 K/BB ratio over 71 innings as a reliever with High-A Frederick this past season. He could be a set-up man someday, but isn’t likely to help on the big league level anytime soon.
