Athletics signed LHP CD Pelham to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Pelham provides the Athletics with some extra left-handed relief depth after splitting last year between a stint with the Angels at Double-A Rocket City and the independent Mexican League where he posted an absurd 1.04 ERA over 17 1/3 innings of work. The 29-year-old southpaw hasn’t appeared in the majors since the 2018 campaign when he made 10 unremarkable relief appearances for the Rangers.

Padres signed LHP C.D. Pelham to a minor league contract.
Pelham, 28, spent the 2022 season in the Cubs’ organization where he posted a 4.35 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and a 41/25 K/BB ratio over 41 1/3 innings between Double-A Tennessee and Triple-A Iowa. He’ll add bullpen depth in the upper minors for the Padres.

Cubs sent LHP C.D. Pelham outright to Triple-A Iowa.
The Cubs claimed Pelham off waivers back in November. He is now off the 40-man roster but will remain in their organization.

Cubs claimed LHP C.D. Pelham off waivers from the Rangers.
Pelham was designated for assignment by Texas last week after yielding 46 runs -- 43 earned -- in 32 1/3 innings of relief this past season between Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Nashville. The 24-year-old left-hander holds a career 5.51 ERA in the minors and a career 7.04 ERA in the majors. He’s a depth piece.

Rangers designated LHP C.D. Pelham for assignment.
Pelham is removed from the 40-man roster to make room for the plethora of prospects added by the Rangers on Wednesday. A hard-throwing left-hander, Pelham was awful in 2019 at both the Triple-A and MLB level with a 12.05 ERA for Texas and an 11.81 mark for Nashville. Someone could claim him because left-handers always get claimed, but there’ll be no fantasy value now or going forward.

Rangers optioned LHP C.D. Pelham to Triple-A Nashville.
Pelham got a cup of coffee with the Rangers last September but has struggled this spring. He’ll get another shot eventually.

Rangers purchased the contract of LHP C.D. Pelham from Double-A Frisco.
A 33rd round pick out of Spartanberg Methodist College, Pelham owns a 3.66 ERA in stops with High-A Down East and Double-A Frisco, and he’s struck out 53 hitters in his 46 2/3 innings.
