Marlins signed LHP Chad Bentz to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.
Bentz had a 5.86 ERA in 27 2/3 innings for the Expos last season. If the season started tomorrow, he might have a spot in the Florida pen. However, the Marlins will keep looking for a lefty to pair with Matt Perisho. They also have Rule 5 pick Luke Hagerty.

White Sox signed LHP Chad Bentz to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.
Bentz allowed seven runs in two innings for the Marlins and had a 4.22 ERA in 30 appearances for Triple-A Albuquerque last season. As things stand now, he’d compete with Arnie Munoz, Paulino Reynoso and Corwin Malone to become the second lefty in the White Sox pen. The team will keep looking for alternatives, though.
