Either Chad Kreuter or Todd Greene is expected to be released when Ryan Drese is called up to be the fifth starter Saturday.
The Rangers are going with three catchers at the moment. Einar Diaz is the starter. Greene is the stronger hitter and can play more positions, but Kreuter was brought in specifically to help struggling ace Chan Ho Park. Since he hasn’t really been successful in that role, he could be on his way out.

Chad Kreuter is the top candidate to be sent packing after today’s game when a roster move is made to add Ryan Drese, Saturday’s starter, to the roster.
Kreuter will start at catcher today with Chan Ho Park on the mound, only to be given his walking papers after the game.

Rangers announced that catcher Chad Kreuter has cleared waivers and accepted an outright assignment to Triple-A Oklahoma.
With the Rangers down to two catchers, Todd Greene is no longer a candidate to DH or pinch-hit. It’s unclear whether Greene or Einar Diaz will catch Chan Ho Park, but that’s something that won’t have to be decided for a while.

The Rangers told catcher Chad Kreuter that they will release him tomorrow.
Kreuter hasn’t done a good enough job with Chan Ho Park to justify his inclusion on the roster. Donnie Sadler, Mike Lamb and Jason Hart appear to be the top candidates to replace him.

    Rangers released catcher Chad Kreuter.
It was announced earlier this week that Kreuter would accept his assignment to Triple-A Oklahoma, but he decided against it.

Rangers purchased the contracts of C Chad Kreuter, LHP C.J. Nitkowski, OF Ruben Sierra and INF/OF Jermaine Clark.
Todd Greene hasn’t been released, so it looks like the Rangers are going with three catchers. Kreuter likely will serve as Chan Ho Park’s personal catcher and play sparingly whenever anyone else is on the mound. He has no fantasy value. Sierra and Clark are solid $1 picks.
