Orioles acquired C Chris O’Brien from the Dodgers in the Ryan Webb trade.
O’Brien, the son of former major league catcher Charlie O’Brien, is a switch-hitting catcher who batted .266/.341/.438 with seven home runs and 53 RBI across 116 games with Double-A Chattanooga last season. Mostly known for his defense, the 25-year-old could emerge as a backup catcher in the big leagues.
