Mets released RHP Christian Montgomery.
Montgomery scored a $250,000 signing bonus from the Mets when he was drafted out of high school in 2011, but the right-hander went on to register a 5.65 ERA over parts of five minor league seasons and failed to advance past Low-A ball. At this point he is a 24-year-old non-prospect.
