Yankees RHP prospect Christian Morris fanned seven hitters over six shutout frames Thursday in a win for Low-A Charleston.
A two-out single by Asheville center fielder Mylz Jones in the third inning was the only hit he allowed. Thursday’s gem ended a mini-slump for Morris, who hadn’t won since May 23 against West Virginia. His 2.23 ERA in eight starts is good for sixth-lowest in the South Atlantic League. Morris joined the Yankees’ organization last summer as a 33rd round pick following a successful college career at Indiana.
