Angels signed RHP Christian Young to a minor league contract.
Young was drafted twice out of Niagara County Community College in 2016 and 2017, but opted not to sign at the time. The Canadian native went undrafted in the shortened 2020 MLB Draft before pitching for three seasons with the Milwaukee Milkmen of the independent American Association before finally earning a shot in affiliated ball. The 27-year-old is a long shot to make the big leagues someday, but he’s a pretty remarkable example of perseverance.
