Clay Hensley surrendered one run in 5 2/3 innings Thursday in a victory over the Astros.
The 5-2 win snaps a three-game losing streak for San Diego. Hensley is still proving to be a useful NL-only starter. He has a 2.78 ERA over his last four starts and is at 7-8 with a 4.33 ERA this season.

Clay Hensley improved to 4-3 by holding the Rockies to two runs in six innings on Wednesday.
Hensley ends the month of May at 3-1 with a 2.93 ERA in six starts. He’s not much of an option in shallow formats, but he should continue to provide value in NL-only leagues.

Clay Hensley walked a career-high seven batters en route to giving up four runs in 3 2/3 innings against the Brewers on Monday.
Hensley threw just 39-of-87 pitches for strikes while striking out two and yielding five hits. The outing could have been worse if reliever Brian Sweeney hadn’t retired Corey Koskie with the bases loaded after Hensley had been removed. Even with the poor outing tonight, Hensley is still a consideration against the Marlins in mixed leagues later this week.

Clay Hensley is completely recovered from a left buttocks strain and will start on Saturday against the Rockies.
Hensley said the buttocks strain has improved his posture which allows him to throw a better sinker. He gave up just one unearned run while pitching in relief on Sunday.

Clay Hensley was scratched from his scheduled start against the Diamondbacks on Saturday because of pain in his left buttocks.
Mike Thompson was called up to start in his place today. Hensley will probably be ready to take his next turn.

Clay Hensley took a loss despite allowing only an unearned run over seven innings against the Giants on Monday.
Hensley has lost eight times as a starter, with the Padres totaling 15 runs in those games. Overall, he has a 4.19 ERA in 22 starts and seven relief appearances.

Clay Hensley, who was supposed to start yesterday but missed the outing with a sore buttocks, entered today’s game with the Diamondbacks as a reliever and threw four innings while allowing just an unearned run.
Hensley gave up four hits while striking out four and not issuing a walk. He should rejoin the rotation when the Padres play the Rockies at Coors Field later this week.

Clay Hensley took the loss after surrendering six runs in six-plus innings versus the Mariners on Saturday.
Hensley didn’t walk a batter and struck out three, but the Mariners bunched their nine hits at the right times to score six runs. We expected better given that Hensley had three quality starts in his last four tries. We like his chances of being a valuable NL-only leaguer this season, but he’ll have a rough task with the Cardinals ahead next week.

Clay Hensley limited an ailing St. Louis lineup to one run and five hits over eight innings to win Friday.
Hensley has been pitching pretty well anyway, and he took advantage of the some ill Cardinals to even his record at 3-3 tonight. Hensley has a 3.40 ERA in eight starts since moving into the Padres’ rotation. It looks like he’s a fixture now.

Despite five walks, Clay Hensley shut out the Rockies for seven innings on Wednesday night.
He allowed just three hits, all of which were singles. Hensley has a 2.90 ERA in five starts and two relief appearances against the Rockies this season.
