Rockies selected LHP Daniel Rosenbaum from the Nationals with the third pick in Thursday’s Rule 5 Draft.
Rosenabum registered a mediocre 3.94 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 99/39 K/BB ratio in 155 1/3 innings (26 starts) this summer at Double-A Harrisburg. The 25-year-old is doubtful to suddenly figure it all out in Colorado.

Rule 5 selection Daniel Rosenbaum was very impressive in his Rockies debut on Friday, allowing just one hit over two scoreless innings in a victory over the Brewers.
The 25-year-old left-hander made a good first impression in his bid to crack the Rockies Opening Day roster. He registered a 3.94 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 99/39 K/BB ratio over 155 1/3 innings for the Nationals Double-A affiliate in 2012. He’s unlikely to carry any fantasy value in 2013.
  • BOS Starting Pitcher
Rockies returned Rule 5 LHP Daniel Rosenbaum to the Nationals.
Rosenbaum allowed four runs and didn’t record any strikeouts over eight innings this spring for the Rockies. The southpaw could start the season at Triple-A.

Red Sox reassigned LHP Danny Rosenbaum to minor league camp.
Not a surprising cut here. Rosenbaum, 28, had an ugly 5.81 ERA with 5.7 K/9 and 5.8 BB/9 between Low-A and Double-A last season. He’s just organizational depth.

Red Sox acquired LHP Danny Rosenbaum from the Nationals for C Dan Butler.
Rosenbaum underwent Tommy John surgery last May and will likely be sidelined through the early part of the 2015 season. The 27-year-old left-hander owns a 3.12 ERA with 6.5 K/9 and 2.8 BB/9 over parts of six seasons in the minors.
