Giants purchased the contract of RHP Daniel Slania from Triple-A Sacramento.
The move protects the 24-year-old from the Rule 5 draft. Slania had a nice season in 2016, posting a 2.93 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 111/35 K/BB ratio over 119 2/3 innings across three minor league levels.

Giants optioned RHP Daniel Slania to Triple-A Sacramento; re-assigned OFs Wynton Bernard, Steven Duggar and Austin Slater, Cs Aramis Garcia and Matt Winn and INF Ryder Jones to minor league camp.
There are no surprises in this group. Slania was added to the 40-man roster over the winter and was not ranked by MLB.com among the Giants’ top 30 prospects.

Giants recalled RHP Daniel Slania from Triple-A Sacramento.
Slania pitched well last season in his first year since being converted from reliever to starter, but he’s struggled this year with a 6.44 ERA between Double- and Triple-A. He’ll give the Giants some length out of the bullpen.

Giants optioned RHP Daniel Slania back to Double-A Richmond.
The 25-year-old hurler appeared in just one game with the Giants, retiring all three hitters he faced in a scoreless inning of work. He should get another opportunity with the big league club before long.

Giants sent RHP Daniel Slania outright to Triple-A Sacramento.
He’s now off the 40-man roster. Slania held a 5.41 ERA over 25 starts between Double- and Triple-A in 2017.
