Pirates reassigned LHP Daniel Zamora, C Carter Bins, RHPs Cody Bolton and Carmen Mlodzinski, INF Andres Alvarez and OF Chavez Young to minor league camp.
Despite the fact that we’re nearing the end of spring training, there were still no real surprises among this batch of cuts for the Pirates. Zamora, a 29-year-old left-hander, pitched well in Grapefruit League play -- compiling a 2.45 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and a 3/2 K/BB ratio over 7 1/3 innings. He should get a chance with the Pirates before the 2023 season is through.

Pirates signed LHP Daniel Zamora to a minor league contract.
Zamora made the announcement on his Instagram page. The 29-year-old southpaw was originally drafted by the Pirates back in 2015 and last appeared in the majors with the Mariners during the 2021 season. He posted a strong 3.86 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 71/27 K/BB ratio across 63 innings (51 appearances, one start) last year at Triple-A Oklahoma City in the Dodgers’ system. He gives the Pirates some additional left-handed relief depth heading into next season.

Mariners optioned LHP Daniel Zamora to Triple-A Tacoma.
Zamora has given up three runs in 4 1/3 innings (6.23 ERA) over four appearances since being claimed by the Mets. He’ll be an up-and-down arm for the Mariners -- one of several -- over the summer.

Mariners recalled LHP Daniel Zamora from Triple-A Tacoma.
Zamora was claimed off waivers from the Mets on Saturday but then sent back down to Triple-A Tacoma. He’ll have a chance to make his debut with Seattle at some point this week in the most makeshift of makeshift bullpens.

Mariners claimed LHP Daniel Zamora off waivers from the Mets and optioned him to Triple-A Tacoma.
Zamora was designated for assignment by the Mets less on Friday and was quickly scooped up by the Mariners. He’ll head to Triple-A Tacoma and could find himself in the major-league bullpen at some point this summer.

Mets designated LHP Daniel Zamora for assignment.
The 28-year-old southpaw became a 40-man roster casualty after the Mets made a flurry of moves on Friday. There’s a decent chance that he’ll pass through waivers unclaimed and continue to function as minor league bullpen depth.

Mets optioned LHP Daniel Zamora to their alternate training site.
Zamora was called up a few days ago but didn’t make an appearance. He’s clearing out to make room for Monday’s starter, Joey Lucchesi.
