Featuring a 94-mph fastball and a quality slider, Crouthers looks like a prospect on his good days. However, he lacks consistency. As a 24-year-old, he went 9-9 with a 5.03 ERA in 27 starts for Double-A Bowie. He might make it as a middle reliever, but probably not with the Cubs.
