The Yankees boast one of the best bullpens in all of baseball, so there weren’t many spots up for grabs this spring. Evans, 26, posted a 4.50 ERA and 1.00 WHIP with three strikeouts over his four innings in Grapefruit League action. He’ll begin the season as bullpen depth at the Triple-A level.

Evans last appeared in the majors with the Rangers back in 2021. The 26-year-old right-hander compiled a solid 3.82 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 44/22 K/BB ratio across 33 innings (32 appearances) last year at Triple-A Round Rock. He’s a worthwhile gamble for the Yankees as extra relief depth.

Evans had been designated for assignment but has cleared waivers and will stick around in the organization.

Evans was waived to make space on the 40-man roster for Steven Duggar. The 25-year-old right-hander had yet to appear in the majors this season, posting a 7.50 ERA across 12 innings in Triple-A.

Evans struggled to a 5.13 ERA and 1.52 WHIP in 26 1/3 innings of relief last season for Texas. The 25-year-old right-hander will function as organizational bullpen depth in 2022.

The 24-year-old right-hander was sent out to make room for Dane Dunning’s return from the COVID-19 injured list. Evans owns a disappointing 5.13 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 33/16 K/BB ratio over 26 1/3 innings in 25 appearances out of the Rangers bullpen this season.

Evans will return to the Texas bullpen ahead of Wednesday night’s game against the Angels. The 24-year-old right-hander has pitched to a 5.65 ERA and 19/8 K/BB ratio over 14 1/3 innings this season at the major league level.

Evans has gone back-and-forth between the majors and minors multiple times this season. He holds a 5.65 ERA over 13 appearances with the big club.

Evans was sent down prior to Monday’s game but is now back with the team needing a fresh arm. He holds a 7.15 ERA over 10 appearances.

Evans was up as the 27th man during Sunday’s doubleheader versus the Blue Jays, tossing two scoreless frames. He’s struggled overall at the big league level this season.
