Weeks is slated to undergo shoulder surgery and miss the entire 2021 campaign. The 27-year-old outfielder will rehab as a free agent and attempt to latch on with another organization next offseason.

Tough break for the 27-year-old. Weeks signed with the Diamondbacks over the winter after spending the first six seasons of his pro career with the Rockies. He slashed .285/.345/.530 with 20 homers, 75 RBI and six stolen bases (in 13 attempts) over 125 games in Triple-A in 2019 and was set to provide upper-level depth coming into this year.

The 27-year-old spent his first six minor league seasons in the Rockies organization. In 2019, he slashed .285/.345/.530 with 20 homers, 75 RBI and six stolen bases (in 13 attempts) over 125 games at Triple-A Albuquerque in the notoriously hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League. He’ll add outfield depth for the D’Backs.
