The Brewers are interested in re-signing Eddie Perez to back up Chad Moeller.
The Brewers don’t appear to be looking to bring back any of their other free agents, a group that includes Glendon Rusch, Dave Burba, John Vander Wal, Royce Clayton and Keith Osik.

Manager Ned Yost has decided to pair Ruben Quevedo with Eddie Perez. To keep the playing time even, Keith Osik will now catch Ben Sheets.
Perez will catch Wayne Franklin, Matt Kinney and Quevedo in the Milwaukee rotation. Osik, who had been starting when Todd Ritchie was on the mound, will catch Sheets and Glendon Rusch.

Three days after hitting his first homer since 1999, Eddie Perez hit his second homer since 1999. He also had a pair of singles today against the Cardinals.
Don’t go dropping Mike Piazza for Perez just yet. The 34-year-old has never hit more than seven homers in a season.

Eddie Perez (shoulder) may have played his last game.
''It’s better,’' Perez, who hasn’t played since May, said of his ailing right shoulder. ''It just isn’t good enough. I’m still working to try to play. I don’t know if I can.’' He’s 37 years old and with Brian McCann there to backup Johnny Estrada, the Braves don’t really miss him.

Braves transferred catcher Eddie Perez from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list.
This opens up a 40-man roster spot and creates playoff-roster flexibility. Perez might be done because of his sore right shoulder.

The Rockies are considering Eddie Perez for their open managerial position.
Perez is currently the Braves’ first base coach. Walt Weiss stepped down as the Rockies’ manager earlier this week due to tension with GM Jeff Bridich. In addition to Perez, the Rockies are also considering Glenallen Hill, who has been serving as the manager for Colorado’s Triple-A affiliate in Albuquerque. Perez recently interviewed for the Braves’ opening at manager but instead Atlanta will choose between Bud Black, Brian Snitker and Ron Washington.

Perez is still dealing with soreness in his shoulder, but he’ll play if needed. Brayan Pena is starting in place of Johnny Estrada tonight.

Braves placed catcher Eddie Perez on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder tendinitis.
After just activating him yesterday. This is terrible inefficient, of course, but since it’s just Eddie Perez, it doesn’t really matter. Brayan Pena should stick around until Perez’s shoulder feels better.
