    Yardley signed a minor league contract with the Cubs back in January after allowing 15 runs (14 earned) with a 5/10 K/BB rtio across 18 2/3 innings (17 appearances) last year with the Brewers. The 31-year-old righty gave up 10 runs (nine earned) over 4 2/3 innings (five appearances) this season at Triple-A Iowa prior to his release.

    Rodriguez is an extremely hard-throwing right-hander that was believed to be in the mix for a high-leverage role at the backend of the Cubs bullpen, but he’ll start the year at Triple-A instead. The 25-year-old posted a 1.50 WHIP over 2 2/3 scoreless innings during Cactus League play.
