Orioles acquired RHP Franderlyn Romero from the Reds for two International Signing Bonus slots.
This comes on the same day that the Orioles traded a draft pick to the Braves along with Brian Matusz and his remaining contract. Romero, 23, has posted a 2.87 ERA and 42/9 K/BB ratio in 47 innings over eight starts with Class A Dayton this season. He has never thrown more than 68 innings in a season and is mostly organizational depth.

Reds RHP prospect Franderlyn Romero took a no-hitter into the eighth inning Tuesday in a win for Low-A Dayton.
Kane County’s Jose Queliz broke it up with a two-out single in the eighth, ending Romero’s night after 89 pitches. Romero’s command was incredible—none of the 25 hitters he faced went to a three-ball count. He also finished with a career-high 12 strikeouts. The right-hander had set down 17 in a row before the hit by Queliz. Opponents had actually performed relatively well against Romero before Tuesday, hitting .316 across 76 at-bats.
