Geronimo Gil is hitting .349 since being sent to Triple-A Ottawa.
Gil has been even better since Aug. 1, hitting .370 with six doubles and 11 RBI this month. He’ll be called up when rosters expand, and could see a fair amount of time behind the plate if he continues to hit.

Geronimo Gil (thumb) may be on the Orioles big-league roster in September.
He probably won’t rejoin the team until Sep. 1 callups.

Orioles optioned catcher Geronimo Gil to Triple-A Ottawa.
Gil is the same player he’s always been, but the Orioles’ opinion of him has gone down this year. They’ll probably recall Robert Machado tomorrow to act as Brook Fordyce’s backup.

Geronimo Gil is expected to be a September callup for the Orioles.
2003’s starting catcher in Baltimore could see some time if Javy Lopez’s back continues to bother him. Gil has a .269-6-33 line at Ottawa this season.

Orioles recalled catcher Geronimo Gil from Triple-A Ottawa.
Gil could supplant Robert Machado as Javy Lopez’s primary backup, but that wouldn’t give him any fantasy value.

Geronimo Gil went 3-for-5 and hit his third home run for Obregon of the Mexican Pacific League yesterday.
Gil is batting .345/.390/.618 in 14 games. He also hit very well in Mexico last season, but that didn’t do him any good, as the Orioles stuck him in Triple-A until September. He’s always been well regarded defensively, so he should be a major league backup.

Gil will spend the rest of the year as the Orioles’ third catcher.

If he hits and catches without pain, Gil will rejoin the Orioles on Friday in Boston.

Geronimo Gil went 3-for-5 with a homer tonight against the Angels.
Gil has put together a nice hot streak and appears to again be Baltimore’s primary catcher. By going 11-for-23 over his past six starts, he’s raised his average from .228 to .282.
