    Grayson Greiner has retired from professional baseball.
    Greiner latched on with the Rockies in late March after failing to make the Tigers out of spring training, but he’s decided to hang them up after playing 20 games in Triple-A to begin the year. The 30-year-old played in two games with the Diamondbacks last season, but he’s best known for his time with the Tigers from 2018-2021 where he slashed .201/.274/.309 over 137 games.

    Rockies signed C Grayson Greiner to a minor league contract.
    Greiner has quickly latched on with the Rockies as extra catching depth at Triple-A Albuquerque shortly after being released by the Twins. The 30-year-old backstop appeared in two games last year for the Diamondbacks and spent the balance of the year at Triple-A Reno.

    Greiner was reassigned to minor league camp earlier this week and has presumably been let go to pursue a new opportunity. The 30-year-old backstop signed a minor league contract with the Twins in January after appearing in a pair of games last year for Arizona.

    Greiner got into a pair of contests last season for the Diamondbacks after spending four seasons with the Tigers as a backup catcher. The 30-year-old backstop provides the Twins with some emergency catching depth and will likely open the 2023 campaign at Triple-A St. Paul.

    The latest batch of cuts from Diamondbacks’ camp include a trio of players with major-league experience. Uceta oscillated back-and-forth between the Dodgers’ bullpen and Triple-A Oklahoma City last year. Ginkel made 32 relief appearances for Arizona and Greiner has appeared in 137 games with the Tigers over the last four seasons.
