Reds signed INF Hernán Pérez to a minor league contract.
Pérez hasn’t appeared in an MLB game in two years, but did post a .836 OPS in Triple-A for the Twins in 2023. He has played in 651 career big league games across 10 different seasons and should serve as organizational depth in case of injuries in 2024.

Braves signed INF Hernán Pérez to a minor league contract.
Pérez, 31, joins the Braves after spending a brief time in the Mexican League with the Toros de Tijuana. The infielder went 1-for-19 last year for the Nationals before joining the Hanwha Eagles of the Korea Baseball Organization. He’ll provide depth in the upper levels for the Braves with an outside chance of helping Atlanta as a utility player before 2022 comes to an end.

Brewers signed INF/OF Hernan Perez to a minor league contract.
He’ll report to Triple-A Nashville. The 30-year-old utilityman struggled during his time with the Nationals, hitting just .053/.143/.053 with a 10/2 K/BB ratio over 21 plate appearances. Perez had the best years of his big league career with the Brewers from 2015-2019 and given the current state of their roster, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him get a shot in a utility role before long.

Hernan Perez has elected to become a free agent.
Perez was pushed off the Nationals’ 40-man roster earlier this week and passed through waivers unclaimed. He then declined an outright assignment to Triple-A Rochester. The 30-year-old holds a career .250/.280/.382 batting line with 45 home runs and 69 stolen bases in 651 total games at the major league level.

Perez gets the boot with Juan Soto (shoulder) coming off the injured list. This move means that Yadiel Hernandez will stick around in the Nats’ outfield.
