Orioles sent RHP Houston Roth outright to Triple-A Norfolk.
Roth didn’t get claimed after being designated for assignment by the Orioles on Monday. The 27-year-old has pitched well in the minors, but his lack of velocity makes him more organizational depth than future high-leverage reliever.

Orioles designated RHP Houston Roth for assignment.
Roth was given his first major league callup late last month, but he never pitched in six days on the Orioles’ roster. Someone else might decide to take a look at him, but given that he’s 27, he doesn’t throw very hard and he’s pretty wild, he’s going to have a tough time making it in the majors. He does have a nice 2.08 ERA in 39 innings between Double- and Triple-A this year.

Orioles optioned RHP Houston Roth to Triple-A Norfolk.
The 27-year-old Roth didn’t get to make his major league debut in his six days with the Orioles, but at least he’s on the 40-man roster now. He has a 2.21 ERA in 36 2/3 innings in the minors this season.

Orioles selected the contract of RHP Houston Roth from Double-A Chesapeake.
Roth receives his first promotion to the majors prior to the nightcap affair of Tuesday’s twin bill against the Blue Jays. The 27-year-old reliever has posted a stellar 2.21 ERA across 36 2/3 innings (24 appearances) this season between Triple-A Norfolk and Double-A Chesapeake.
