Athletics optioned LHP Hogan Harris and RHP Osvaldo Bido to Triple-A Las Vegas; Re-assigned RHPs Danis Correa, Stevie Emanuels, Michel Otañez, Jack Perkins, Billy Sullivan and Shoehei Tomioka, LHPs Easton Lucas and Domingo Robles, C Daniel Susac, OF Jeisson Rosario and INFs Cooper Bowman, Drew Lugbauer and Jacob Wilson to minor league camp.
The timing is bit surprising on the demotion for Harris, as he’s been having a terrific spring (four scoreless innings with a 6/2 K/BB ratio) and he recorded a save in Cactus League action on Sunday. He and Bido will almost assuredly see time with the big league club during the 2024 campaign, but there were no huge surprises among this first large batch of cuts from the Athletics.

Athletics signed OF Jeisson Rosario to a minor league contract.
Rosario was a notable prospect for the Red Sox just a few years ago, but has yet to reach the majors. The 24-year-old outfielder was claimed off waivers prior to the 2022 season by the division-rival Yankees and went on to post a .715 OPS with 10 homers and 11 steals in 429 plate appearances this past season for Double-A Somerset. He’s merely a lottery ticket for the rebuilding Athletics heading into the 2024 campaign.

Yankees sent OF Jeisson Rosario outright to Double-A Somerset.
Rosario passed through waivers unclaimed and will remain with the Yankees’ organization. The 22-year-old outfielder was gobbled up off waivers from the division-rival Red Sox last month.

Yankees designated OF Jeisson Rosario for assignment.
This move clears out a 40-man roster spot for utilityman Marwin Gonzalez. Rosario was claimed off waivers from the Red Sox toward the end of March.

Yankees claimed OF Jeisson Rosario off waivers from the Red Sox; optioned him to Double-A Somerset.
The rivalry is back, folks. Rosario was designated for assignment earlier this week by the Red Sox and will wind up in their longtime rivals’ minor-league system. The 22-year-old outfielder hit .232/.335/.307 with three homers and 11 steals in 98 games last year at Double-A Portland.

Red Sox designated OF Jeisson Rosario for assignment.
This move opens up a 40-man roster spot for Trevor Story, whose six-year, $140 million free agent deal became official on Wednesday morning. Rosario, 22, batted just .232/.335/.307 with three home runs and 11 stolen bases in 98 games last summer at Double-A Portland.

Red Sox purchased the contract of OF Jeisson Rosario from High-A Salem.
Rosario, who came to the Red Sox in the mid-season trade that sent Mitch Moreland to the Padres, hit .242/.372/.314 with three homers, 35 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 120 games at High-A Lake Elsinore in 2019. He possesses intriguing tools, but he’s far from a finished product and is a long way away from contributing at the big league level.

Red Sox acquired OF Jeisson Rosario and 3B Hudson Potts from the Padres for 1B Mitch Moreland.
Rosario, 20, isn’t a finished product by any means but has loads of upside. He was ranked by MLB.com as the Padres’ No. 19 prospect.
