Dodgers designated RHP Jesus Castillo for assignment.
The move clears roster space for new second baseman Ronnie Belliard. Castillo, 25, was selected in the 27th round of the 2003 first-year player draft and hasn’t been given a sniff of the major leagues. He was 7-8 with a 4.38 ERA and an 85/55 K/BB ratio this season at Double-A Chattanooga.
