Red Sox re-signed C Jhon Nunez to a minor league contract.
The 24-year-old was a minor league free agent after spending the first seven seasons of his career in the Red Sox’ system, but he opted to re-up for at least another year. Nunez spent the 2019 season at Double-A Portland where he slashed .280/.333/.412 with five homers, 21 RBI and five swipes in 64 games. He’ll continue to function as minor league catching depth.
