    Blue Jays signed LHP Jo Matumoto to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.
    The 36-year-old Matumoto was considered the ace of Brazil’s national team, but the Jays are just rolling the dice here. “He’s very raw but showed decent velocity,” said Jays scout Sal Butera. “If he develops, it’s worth taking the risk.” If he ever makes it to the majors, it would be a great story.
