    The trade was announced Wednesday afternoon by the Blue Jays’ Triple-A team in Buffalo. Diaz, 32, was batting just .182 with a .587 OPS in 114 plate appearances there. He’ll join up with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

    Diaz drove home two runs with an RBI single in the second inning to put the Jays ahead 3-2, but that would be the extent of their offense on the night. The 28-year-old infielder has been acting as the Jays regular shortstop since Jose Reyes went down with a hamstring injury, and is hitting .250/.333/.250. Outside of deep AL-only leagues, he isn’t relevant.
