Joe Capozzi of the Palm Beach Post writes that prospect right-hander Jose Fernandez could make his major league debut next year.
Fernandez is expected to begin the season with Double-A Jacksonville, but could make his way to the majors by May or June if he continues to dominate. The 20-year-old right-hander posted a 1.75 ERA and 158/35 K/BB ratio over 134 innings this season between Class A Greensboro and High-A Jupiter and was recently ranked as the No. 8 prospect in the game on Baseball America’s midseason list.

Jose Fernandez evened his record at 2-2 after allowing three runs in six innings Friday against the Dodgers.
It wasn’t Fernandez’s best outing, but it was the first time in seven starts that the Marlins had scored more than three runs with him on the mound. They won 5-4 tonight to send the Dodgers to their eighth straight loss.

Jose Fernandez allowed just one run over five innings Tuesday, taking a no-decision as the Marlins lost to the Phillies.
A Delmon Young solo homer was the only damage done to Fernandez on the night, but his offense let him down once again. The 20-year-old owns a respectable 2-2 record and 3.31 ERA, all things considered, and he seems to be continuing to get better as the season goes on. His next start is scheduled for Monday against the Rays.

Jose Fernandez blanked the Mets for seven innings, allowing just three hits, in a victory Saturday.
The 20-year-old struck out eight today, coming up one short of his season high. He’s allowed one or no runs in five of his 11 starts, but he has just three wins to show for it. Such is life as a Marlins pitcher.

Jose Fernandez held the Mets to one run in six innings Saturday, but was handed a no-decision.
Fernandez walked three and gave up just three hits while fanning seven. The only run scored on a double by Juan Lagares in the bottom of the second inning. The young right-hander has dominated the Mets to the tune of a 1.64 ERA in four starts this season. He’ll have a much tougher assignment next Friday against the Cardinals.

Jose Fernandez was tagged for seven runs (four earned) in 3 1/3 innings in a loss to the Rays on Monday.
It was not a happy homecoming for Fernandez, as it was the shortest outing of his brief major league career. The rookie right-hander was touched up for six runs in the second inning and was charged with another after he was pulled in the fourth inning. He gave up five hits (including a three-run homer by Kelly Johnson), three walks and also hit a batter. Fernandez won’t get many wins with the Marlins and he’ll continue to be on a pitch count moving forward, but we’re expecting better things in his next outing against the Mets this weekend.

Friday’s game between the Marlins and Mets has been postponed due to rain.
The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on September 14. Scheduled starters Matt Harvey and Jose Fernandez will presumably be pushed back to Saturday.

Jose Fernandez was a hard-luck loser Wednesday after being charged with two runs in 7 1/3 innings against the Diamondbacks.
Both of those runs scored on a Cody Ross three-run homer after Fernandez departed. Fernandez allowed just three hits for the third time in his last four starts. He has a 1.65 ERA in 27 1/3 innings during June.

Jose Fernandez struck out a career-high 10 batters while allowing three runs -- two earned -- in seven innings as part of a 5-4 win over the Cardinals.
Impressive. Fernandez is the first pitcher under 21 years old to reach-double strikeouts since Mariners’ ace Felix Hernandez did it in 2007. The rookie right-hander has allowed three runs or fewer in eight out of his last nine starts and owns an excellent 3.11 ERA and 77/27 K/BB ratio over 72 2/3 innings this season. An innings-limit looms, but he’s a must-own in all fantasy formats.

Marlins reassigned RHP Jose Fernandez and OF Jake Marisnick to minor league camp.
Both were expected moves. Fernandez was recently ranked as the game’s No. 5 prospect by Baseball America and could make his major league debut later this year. Marisnick, who was acquired from the Blue Jays over the winter, will get a late start this season due to a fractured hand.
