Braves sent RHP Jose Ramirez outright to Triple-A Gwinnett.
Ramirez went from leading the NL in holds in 2017 to making seven appearances with a 17.05 ERA this past season. He didn’t pitch after mid-April because of a shoulder impingement.

Yankees purchased the contract of RHP Jose Ramirez from High-A Tampa.
Ramirez is now on the 40-man roster. The 22-year-old right-hander posted a 3.19 ERA and 94/30 K/BB ratio over 98 2/3 innings this season and is known for his electric fastball.

Jose Ramirez pitched three scoreless innings out of the pen Sunday as the Yankees topped the Red Sox 5-2.
Ramirez is in his first major league spring training after being added to the 40-man roster in November. One of the Yankees’ top prospects, he went 7-6 with a 3.19 ERA and 94 strikeouts in 98 2/3 innings for Single-A Tampa last year. He’ll open 2013 in Double-A.

Yankees pitching prospect Jose Ramirez required an MRI on his back and oblique Thursday.
The results of the tests are not yet known. Ramirez dealt with an oblique ailment last year in the minors and thinks it’s the same issue. The 24-year-old isn’t a real option for the Opening Day roster after putting up a 3.67 ERA with 78 strikeouts across 73 2/3 innings between Double- and Triple-A last season.

Braves purchased the contract of RHP Jose Ramirez from Triple-A Gwinnett.
Ramirez was pushed off the Braves’ 40-man roster back in April after two disastrous outings, but he has pitched very well at Triple-A. The right-hander will presumably step into a middle relief role in Atlanta.

Jose Ramirez has been suspended for three games by Major League Baseball for throwing a pitch at the Marlins’ Jose Fernandez on Wednesday.
He threw a pitch behind Fernandez’s head after Fernandez had hit Nick Markakis with the pitch earlier in the game. Ramirez is appealing the ruling.

Jose Ramirez gave up four runs -- three earned -- in his inning against the Phillies on Tuesday.
Ramirez has surrendered three homers in 6 2/3 innings this spring, potentially putting his roster spot in jeopardy. Fortunately, he’s out of options, so it’s still likely that he’ll keep his place in Atlanta’s pen. He had a 2.05 ERA in 30 2/3 innings after the All-Star break last year.

Given a save chance with Jim Johnson needing the day off, Jose Ramirez gave up two runs in the ninth to blow a save Wednesday against the Pirates.
Both Johnson and Arodys Vizcaino had worked the last two days and four of the previous five days, so Ramirez got the call. An overturned call gave the Pirates an infield single to open the inning, and they got another single, a walk and a two-run single afterwards to tie the game. Ramirez probably won’t get any additional save chances in the near future.

Yankees recalled RHP Jose Ramirez from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Ramirez has posted a 2.95 ERA with 18 strikeouts over 18 1/3 innings at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season. He’ll work in middle relief.

Yankees recalled RHP Jose Ramirez from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
The 25-year-old will provide a fresh arm to a depleted bullpen. He has appeared in just one game with the big league club this season, allowing four runs in his lone inning of work.
