White Sox signed RHP Juan Then to a minor league contract.
The deal presumably also includes an invitation to spring training where he’ll be vying for one of the last spots in Chicago’s season-opening bullpen. The 23-year-old righty went unclaimed last August on waivers after making nine relief appearances for the Mariners. He’s a decent lottery ticket for the White Sox as extra organizational relief depth.

Mariners sent RHP Juan Then outright to Triple-A Tacoma.
Then passed through waivers unclaimed and will remain with Seattle as organizational relief depth. The 23-year-old righty has made nine relief appearances this season in his first taste of the majors. The procedural move frees up a spot on the Mariners’ 40-man roster.

Mariners optioned RHP Juan Then to Triple-A Tacoma.
The 23-year-old spent just one day with the big league club this time around, but he’ll be sent back out to make room on the active roster for the M’s trade acquisitions from the Diamondbacks. Then did not appear in Monday’s game and still sports a 4.91 ERA and 1.46 WHIP over 11 innings with the Mariners this season.

Mariners recalled RHP Juan Then from Triple-A Tacoma.
With Paul Sewald shipped off to the Diamondbacks on Monday, the hard-throwing 23-year-old gets another shot to work out of the Mariners’ bullpen and could stick around this time. He has posted a 4.91 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and a 5/2 K/BB ratio across 11 innings in nine appearances with the M’s this season.

Mariners optioned RHP Juan Then to Triple-A Tacoma.
The 23-year-old hurler struggled in his first taste of big league action -- registering a 4.91 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and a 5/2 K/BB ratio over 11 innings in his nine appearances. He’ll continue to hone his craft at the Triple-A level and should get another opportunity to pitch out of the M’s bullpen this summer.

Mariners recalled RHP Juan Then from Double-A Arkansas.
Then gets the call to join the pen despite having allowed seven runs -- five earned -- in nine innings as a reliever in Double-A. It’ll probably be a short-term move for the Mariners.

According to Joe Doyle of FutureStarsSeries.com, the Mariners are calling up RHP prospect Juan Then for Friday’s series opener against the Astros.
Then has allowed seven runs (five earned) with an 11/3 K/BB ratio across nine innings (seven appearances) this season for Double-A Arkansas. The 23-year-old right-hander, who was acquired from the Yankees in the Edwin Encarnacion trade back in 2019, will make the jump to the majors in a middle relief role.

Mariners optioned RHP Juan Then to Double-A Arkansas.
The hard-throwing righty will return to Double-A Arkansas to start the 2023 season. He was limited to just 12 innings last year due to a right elbow injury. If he remains healthy, he could make his major league debut this year.

Then was added to the Mariners’ 40-man roster back in 2020 and will open the 2022 season in the upper minors. The hard-throwing 22-year-old righty posted a 6.46 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 59/19 K/BB ratio across 54 1/3 innings (14 starts) last year at High-A Everett.

Mariners RHP prospect Juan Then hurled six scoreless innings for High-A Everett on Sunday.
Then allowed just two hits, and he struck out six. Acquired by the Mariners in the deal that shipped Edwin Encarnacion to the Yankees in 2019, the right-hander is in his second stint with the Seattle organization -- he was traded from Seattle to New York in 2017 -- and he is a much better prospect the second time around. He can get his fastball into the high 90s with late movement, and he throws two solid-average secondary pitches in his slider and change. Then has never had issue throwing strikes, and the 21-year-old repeats his delivery well; suggesting it won’t be an issue going forward. Then should see the upper levels this summer, and has a chance to help the Seattle pitching staff in 2022.
