Yankees acquired RHP Justin Lange from the Padres for 1B/DH Luke Voit.
A first-round pick in the 2020 Draft, Lange is a high-upside, low-floor get for the Yanks, as he boasts big velocity but also big command issues. The 20-year-old had been ranked by MLB.com as the Padres’ No. 8 prospect.

Padres selected RHP Justin Lange of Llano HS in Texas with the 34th pick of the 2020 MLB Draft.
Lange really improved his velocity, as the 6-foot-4, 220-pound right-hander went from throwing in the low 90s to sitting 94-97 mph and touching triple-digits with some sink. He also has a slider that gets plus grades, but both his third pitch -- a below-average change -- and command will need to make strides if he’s going to be a starter at the highest level. There’s obvious upside in Lange’s profile, but he comes with plenty of risk, as well.
