Reports have said that the Marlins are dangling righthanded pitchers Justin Wayne, Blaine Neal and Nate Bump and minor-league lefthander Ryan Snare, in an effort to land an established righthanded reliever.
One report said the Marlins were the frontrunners for the services of Armando Benitez, and said the Mets had dispatched a scout to look at Bump. The Marlins, five games back of Arizona in the NL Wildcard race, have gone from sellers to buyers.
