Pirates acquired SS Keiner Delgado from the Yankees.
Delgado was regarded as a top 30 prospect in New York’s system and heads to Pittsburgh to complete the JT Brubaker trade from back in late March. The 20-year-old shortstop was unlikely to ever unseat the glut of middle infielders blocking his path to regular at-bats with the Yankees down the road, which probably explains why he was the player to be named later in this deal. He’s a decent lottery ticket for the Pirates.
